(Wedding Invitations)
1.新娘邀请亲密朋友的信 ( Bride’s Note of Invitation to a Close friend )
                                             June 6, 2005
Dear Betty,
David and I have set the date — and we want you to be the first to know it! We’re going to be married very quietly at the Community Church on Thursday, June the twelfth, at noon. We are asking only a few people — just our nearest relatives and our very special friends.
Can you be at the house about eleven, Betty, and go to the church with us? Then we’ll all come back here after the ceremony; mother’s giving a little wedding banquet for us.
Let’s hope it’s a bright sunny day on the twelfth!
With my best regards!.
                                                      With Love,
                                                      Helen

(Regret)
                                            June 10, 2005
Dear Helen,
How awful to have to turn down your very, very tempting wedding ceremony!
I can’t think of anything that I would enjoy more right now than it. But I expect my mother just about that time—either on the twelfth or thirteenth of June. She is stopping over on her way to Canada and plans to spend a few days with me. Under the
circumstances, I cannot make any plans for that day.
But thanks so much for asking us, Helen! I know I am missing a marvelous time!I am so sorry for that!
With my best wishes!
 Affectionately yours,
                                            Jane
