英语应用文写作之请柬

请柬（Invitation）
所谓正式社交书信是使用于隆重的社交活动的信件，亦即请柬，如在教堂中举行婚礼的请柬、大型宴会的请柬、舞会请柬等。
 请柬是邀请亲友的书面通知，措辞要恰当，并有一定的格式。正式请柬要用优质白色的双摺卡。正面用雕版精印。卡纸可用平面的。请柬和复函都用第三人称来写。格式用美观而不规则的缩行形式排列在一页内。姓名要全部写出来。时间如星期几、日期、月份和地点均须写明。正式请柬亦可手写，但整个页面的安排须完全仿照印刷请柬的形式。
 晚宴、舞会等请柬用“request the pleasure (or honor) of your company ”来邀请。在教堂结婚，邀请出席婚礼用“request the honor of your presence” ，中文的意思是“敬请出席”或“恭请光临“。

注：

R.S.V.P. 是法语 “Répondez, s’il vous plait”的缩写，意思是：“Reply if you please”, 中文意为：“请赐回示/请惠复/赐复”。亦可用下列辞句：

接到正式请柬后应尽可能在24小时内予以答复。如果不能赴宴，须明确说明原因，以便女主人可以有时间另作安排。下面是一份接受波特先生和夫人请柬的复函格式。
1). 接受邀请

2). 婉谢邀请
 如果夫妇二人一起被邀参加一个正式宴会，而丈夫不能赴宴，其妻应复函告知二人均不能赴宴。例如，金先生不在城里，金夫人可写下列的复函给伯特夫人：

Owing to Mr. Benjamin King’s
 absence from town on business
Mrs. king
regrets she is unable to accept
Mr. and Mrs. Henry James Porter’s

on Saturday, the fifteenth of September
