（2）过程型动词：

过程型动词表示人或物在数量、质量、程度、体积、速度、力量、外观、颜色、方向等各种特征方面变化、发展、增大或减少的过程。这类动词一般都有延续时间，可以用于进行时态，说明延续的过程。这类动词有change，alter，turn，mature，ripen，develop，grow，age，improve，increase，accelerate，decline，decrease，reduce，decelerate，diminish，widen，flatten，deepen，shorten，lengthen，weaken等，例如：

b．The leaves are turning brown．

（树叶正在由绿色变成棕色。）

b．The appearance of the museum is being changed．

c．The appearance of the museum is changing．
